Denise Hanrahan has been a licensed attorney since 2012 when she was admitted to practice in Missouri. She began her law career in private practice with a focus on estate planning and small business services. After relocating to North Carolina, she was approved to practice as an out-of-state attorney providing pro bono services to non-profit organizations and was subsequently admitted to the North Carolina Bar as a practicing attorney.
Denise received her Juris Doctor from St. Louis University School of Law. She earned a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri. She also has a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.
Denise’s work history includes more than 20 years of management and supervisory experience in information systems and businesses in various industries. This included 10 years of experience in the financial services and securities industry where she obtained securities sales and supervision licenses and North Carolina insurance licenses for life, health, and annuities. She also worked for firms in the specialty managed health care business for over 10 years. Her previous management experience included international travel and managing projects with diverse international teams.
Her professional affiliations include membership in the North Carolina Bar Association, the Tenth Judicial District Bar and Wake County Bar Association, and the Missouri Bar Association. She also volunteers as a pro bono attorney at Legal Aid of North Carolina and was a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children (CASA) volunteer in Missouri. Denise has participated in various community events such as the Walk to Cure Alzheimer’s, American Heart Association Heart Walk, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Walk.
